Authors
Dr. Amaan Anjum
Abstract
The Middle East, a region plagued by
protracted conflicts, remains critical to the global economy due to its
dominance in oil production and geopolitical significance. This paper
investigates the economic repercussions of Middle East conflicts on India, a
country heavily reliant on oil imports and with significant diaspora employment
in the Gulf. The study examines the short- and long-term effects of disruptions
in crude oil prices, remittance inflows, trade balances, and investor
sentiments on the Indian economy. Recommendations for mitigating these impacts
are also proposed, emphasizing policy-level interventions to strengthen energy
security and economic resilience.
